Troops of Sector 4 of the Nigerian military have arrested a suspected impostor accused of posing as a soldier at Tsamiya Checkpoint in Barama, Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The suspect was reportedly apprehended at about 6:40 p.m. on September 27, 2026, while allegedly parading himself as a military personnel.

Counter-terrorism expert Zagazola Makama disclosed the arrest in a statement posted on X on Tuesday.

According to Makama, preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect allegedly wore military uniform to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.Items reportedly recovered from him included a mobile phone, a power bank and an MP3 player.

“The suspect remains in military custody for further investigation and appropriate action,” Makama stated.The arrest comes amid continued security operations by troops across parts of the North-East aimed at curbing criminal activities and protecting civilians.
