Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, on Wednesday held a town hall meeting with stakeholders and residents of the Ekiti North Senatorial District at Ifaki-Ekiti as part of consultations ahead of the preparation of the 2027 state budget.

The meeting brought together representatives, community leaders and other stakeholders from various local government areas in the senatorial district to deliberate on the needs and priorities of their respective communities.

The annual town hall meeting is designed to provide an avenue for communities to make inputs into the state’s budget process by presenting their priority projects and development needs to the state government.

Since assuming office in October 2022, Governor Oyebanji has consistently participated in the annual town hall meetings, using the engagements to interact directly with residents and community leaders across the state.

The Governor has also emphasised the importance of incorporating the preferences and priorities of communities and local government areas into government planning, particularly as communicated through their recognised leaders and representatives.

The consultations are expected to assist the state government in identifying priority areas for intervention and ensuring that the 2027 budget reflects the development needs of communities across Ekiti North and the state at large.
